The Electoral Commission has reiterated it will still go ahead to compile new voters register despite fears over coronavirus.

In a statement, the commission, however, said it will put in place the necessary measures to protect their staff and the public during the exercise.

Ghana has confirmed its 7th case of coronavirus, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced.

It comes days after four additional cases were confirmed Sunday after the initial two that were recorded last Thursday.

So far, a total of 143 suspected cases have been tested for COVID-19 by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).

On Monday, two Italians who were set to enter Ghana were stopped from entering the country.
