Chamber of Agribusiness calls for Agric Minister’s head

1 Mins read

The Chief Executive Officer for the Chamber of Agribusiness Ghana, Mr. Anthony Morrison has called for the resignation of the Minister for Food and Agriculture.

According to him, the call is not an attack on his personality but rather his inability to mitigate the country’s food security.

In an interview with Citi TV, he said the Minister’s decision to ban maize and soya beans at the beginning of the major farming season is not backed by sufficient data and will drive away investors.

He added that the Chamber is in talks with major players in the agriculture sector and will embark on a demonstration if the Minster does not resign.
