GVCA is excited about the major milestone achieved today. For the first time in Ghana, a PE/VC fund was completely anchored by local pension funds. This marks a major turn in our industry as local capital is unlocked to drive private sector growth and the strengthening of the economy.
We congratulate Injaro Investments Limited for this milestone and salute the local investors: Kwabena Boamah of STANLIB, Chris Hammond and Kofi D. Fynn of Petra Trust Ltd, Afriyie Oware of AXIS PENSION TRUST LTD..
We also say a big “thank you” to the regulators (Securities and Exchange Commission, Ghana and the National Pensions Regulatory Authority) for providing the necessary revisions in guidelines to encourage the participation of pension funds in this asset class. We would also like to acknowledge the Ministry of Finance for key policy changes over the years that has made the asset class more attractive.
We look forward to exciting times ahead for the industry and the economy as local capital is unlocked to support private sector growth and the strengthening of our economy.
