An aspiring presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 presidential elections has called for changes and the consolidation of some of our ministries.
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong noted that the designation of some of our ministries was problematic.
Under his presidency, he intends to merge the Youth and Sports Ministry with the Ministry of Education, creating the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports.
He said the Ministries of Fisheries and Aquaculture should not be stand-alone because they form part of agriculture.
He also proposed merging the Ministries of Works and Housing, Water Resources, and Sanitation into a single ministry.
Kwabena Agyei Agyepong went on to suggest that the Aviation and Railway Ministries be merged as Transport, with the caveat that we can only detach Roads from this category.
